Mr. Gao Zhenxian, Guangzhou City General Manager of Mobike, briefs the audience on the status quo of the bike-sharing industry at the seventh Urban Innovation Forum held at Guangzhou Library on July 8.

Guangzhou, among more than half of Chinese cities where the service is available, ranks fourth in riding participation and in good riding manner, and third in service excellence.

Traveling by bike has become the fourth most popular way to get around in China, with 11.6 percent of people saddling up.

It not only helps to reduce carbon emissions and PM 2.5 (particulate matter smaller than 2.5 micrometers in diameter), but also increases the efficiency in the transport network and makes travelling more convenient.

The Urban Innovation Forum was sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation, Guangzhou Library, and Guangzhou Urban Planning and Design Survey Research Institute.
