The Technical Committee (TC) for the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation held an assessment meeting from 15 to 17 October, 2012 in Guangzhou.

The TC reviewed all 255 initiatives submitted from 153 cities and from 56 countries and regions, and selected 15 Short-Listed Initiative and 30 Deserving Initiatives for the Award based on the criteria of innovativeness, effectiveness, replicability, and significance.
